The Capella is situated in Kalasatama, one of the latest and quickly developing housing areas in Helsinki. Capella consists of 45 owner-occupied apartments with regulated prices. Plans are based on research by Talli in 2006, "Helsinkiläinen kerrostaloatlas". The theme was the traditional Helsinki housing type with large adaptable rooms, typical in 1920s´ residential buildings in Töölö. Spatial arrangement makes possible a variety of spatial solutions. Rooms open into each other, but can also be separated easily. Private rooms are situated in the corners, and family rooms lie in between. The layout makes possible different uses, and is suitable for many types of inhabitants; apartments can be adapted without major structural changes.
