The Lasipalatsi-building was originally designed by Kokko, Revell and Riihimäki in 1936. It is one of the most elegant creations of functionalistic architecture in Finland. Despite this it was ment to be demolished in the 1970s. When Talli architects begun the idea planning for the future use of the building in 1995, the building was in very poor shape. The careful restoration and partly even reconstruction, was made to regain the spirit of this originally joyful bazaar.
